Walter M. Almeida

New Bedford – Walter M. Almeida, age 77, of Dartmouth, MA passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024. He was the long-time companion of Dorothy Esteireiro.

Walter was born in St. Michael, Azores to the late Joao Almeida and Hilda (Arruda) Almeida. He had been a bus driver for SRTA Bus Company for many years. He loved to eat fish and Chinese food.

He is survived by his long-time companion, Dorothy Esteireiro; his daughters, Sandra Semedo and her husband John and Nancy Almeida; grandchildren, Tahlib, Caleb, Jahleil and Andon; his brothers, John Almeida, Carlos Almeida and Jorge Almeida; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Walter’s visiting hours will be held at Perry Funeral Home on Sunday, February 4, 2024 from 1:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M. His funeral will take place on Monday morning, beginning at 9:00 A.M. in the funeral home and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.
