Valentina Rosa

New Bedford – Valentina (Garcia) Rosa, age 95, of New Bedford, MA passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2024 at St. Luke’s Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Leonardo Rosa.

She was born in Pico, Azores, Portugal and was the beloved daughter of the late Julia (Nunes) Garcia and Antonio Francisco Garcia. She worked as a seamstress for Marco clothing. 

Valentina is survived by her children, Manuel Rosa and his partner JoEllen Smith of NH, Jorge Rosa and his wife Lori Rosa of North Dartmouth and Maria Rosa of New Bedford; her grandchildren, Jonah Rosa and his wife Alicia Rosa of NH, Katrina Rosa and her husband Cesar Queiroz of NH, Kendra Rosa and her partner Tim Puim of MA, Jennilyn Rosa and her partner Justin Brooks of CT, Kelsey Rosa and her husband Ryan Gaydou of MA. As well as 11 Great-grandchildren. She was also the sister of the late Manuel, Antonio, Alfredo, Jose, Maria, Teresa and Julieta Garcia.

Valentina’s visiting hours will be held at Perry Funeral Home on Friday, November 1, 2024 from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Her funeral will take place on Saturday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 9:00 A.M. and followed by Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
