Sandra L'Heureux

New Bedford - Sandra L'Heureux, age 75 passed away at Hathaway Manor on August 23, 2023 after a long illness.

Born in Acushnet, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Lillian (Forcier) Pelletier and lived in New Bedford most of her life. She was a graduate of New Bedford High School. She worked with her father at the family trophy store, Larry's Trophy Shop, where upon his passing she took over the business where she served the community for over 45 years.

Sandy was well known for donating trophies to organizations that needed help. For many years in her spare time she volunteered her service to New Bedford's ESU which she truly enjoyed. Her passion was reading and doing needle work. Whether it be cross stitch, needlepoint, or knitting her work was flawless and unsurpassed! Also spending time with her dog Cooper gave her joy.

She is survived by her daughter Tracy L'Heureux and her wife Jill of Freetown; Her sister Diane Morris of New Bedford; niece Jennifer Pereira and husband Jeff of New Hampshire nephew Michael Morris of New Bedford; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sandy was blessed to have wonderful friends. A special thanks to Debra Hopwood, Janice Vieira, Dale Hebert and Donna Leaver for the wonderful care they gave to Sandy during her time of sickness.
