Rosalie DeMello

New Bedford – Rosalie (Gonsalves) DeMello, age 87, of South Dartmouth, MA completed her life’s journey on Thursday, February 27, 2025.

She was born in South Dartmouth, MA in 1937 and resided there for most of her life. She was the daughter of John and Stella (Augustine) Gonsalves and the wife of Joseph C. DeMello.

Rosalie was a graduate of Holy Family High School, Class of 1955. She was then employed by several insurance agencies in New Bedford and later worked for her husband’s business, the John Deere Dealership in South Dartmouth, MA.

She was an avid reader and also enjoyed traveling with her husband and children in their motor home. Her favorite destination was Crawford Notch in New Hampshire.

Rosalie is survived by her husband, Joseph and their three children, David and his wife Sheryl, James and his wife Rae Ann and Ann Marie. Also survive by her grandchildren, Chris, Alex, Stephen, Matt, Nick, Dan, Sara and Benjamin; as well as her great-grandson, David M. DeMello.

Rosalie’s funeral services were held privately.
