Raimundo Cabral

New Bedford – Raimundo Cabral, age 91, of New Bedford, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Charlton Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Maria Helena (Carvalho) Cabral.

Raimundo was born in Ajuda da Bretanha, Sao Miguel, Azores to the late Mariano and Maria Rosa Cabral. He moved to the United States in 1965 and settled in this area, where he went on to work for Campanella Construction Company for 21 years.

He is survived by his loving wife, Maria Helena Cabral; his son, Raymond Cabral and his wife Lucy; daughter, Ellen Maria Carreiro and her significant other Joel Brown; son, Paul George Cabral and his wife Shaanon; grandchildren, Matthew, Alexis and Jaida Cabral, Bianca, Calista and Ayden Carreiro, Hunter, Halle, Harrison and Holden Cabral, 3 great grandchildren, Iverson DeSousa, Kyris Viera and Athena Cabral. He was the brother of the late Rosa Medeiros, Maria Santos, Irene Carvalho, Joao, Antonio and Luis Cabral and several nieces and nephews.

Raimundo’s visiting hours will take place on Monday, September 2, 2024 at Perry Funeral Home from 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. His funeral will be held on Tuesday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 9:00 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.
