Olga (Moniz) Amaral

New Bedford – Olga (Moniz) Amaral, age 86, of New Bedford, MA passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024 at home with her loving family by her side. She was the loved wife of the late Manuel F. Amaral.

Olga was born in Ramalho, Sao Miguel, Açores to the late Cesaltina (Raposo) Moniz and Carlos Raposo Moniz. She had worked in the Textile Industry. 

Olga is survived by her daughter, Deborah Vicente and her husband Luis and her grandchildren, Mathew and Tiffany Vicente, her brother Antonio Moniz, nephew Roy Moniz and his wife Josie and their children, Marco Moniz and Marisa Moniz, as well as nephew Robert Charles Moniz and his daughter Madeline.

Olga's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Maria Raposo for her compassionate care and support until the very end. They would also like to extend a special thank you to the Community Nurse Hospice team, along with the nurses and aides, for their dedicated assistance throughout this difficult time.

Olga’s visiting hours will be held at Perry Funeral Home on Friday December 13, from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, December 14, at Perry Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.
