Normand E. Robitaille

January 29, 1926 — March 7, 2025

East Freetown, Ma

Normand E Robitaille, of East Freetown, Ma was a cherished individual known for his soft smile, storytelling, fun loving and humorous personality. He left us unexpectedly on March 7, 2025. Normand was the beloved husband of the late Theresa (Desorcy) Robitaille, who passed away in 2005.

Normand was born in New Bedford, Ma and was the son of the late Rosario Robitaille and Emelia (Messier) Robitaille. He was a proud veteran, who served with the Navy Seabees as a heavy equipment operator during World War II in the United States Navy.

Normand attended High School in Canada and some college here in the US. He worked for his father's contracting business and also was a furniture salesman for some time. Normand went on to open his own kitchen business, in New Bedford 70 years ago around 1955, know as Tailored Kitchens & Bath. In that era, the kitchen business was considered to be the "first of its kind" in the area. Over the years it remained a successful family run and owned organization for over 55 years until retirement.

Normand was always ready for a new adventure! Whether it was snow skiing up north, fishing in the Rangeley lakes or spending a Sunday afternoon visiting a cat show. He found joy working in his garden and was an avid fisherman. He was also a small plane pilot, ice hockey enthusiast and enjoyed vacationing in the White Mountains. Every year he'd take great pleasure traveling to the apple orchards in Maine to pick apples and indulge in some maple syrup. Normand loved his pet cats Buster & Suzie!

He leaves behind his son, Paul R Robitaille; his daughter, Diane I. Thibodeau; his granddaughter Katie A Robitaille and companion Allen Richard and many loving friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Rene Robitaille, his brothers, Raymond O Robitaille, Herve Robitaille and sister, Theresa A Robitaille.

Dad, you are in our hearts, and we will always Love and miss you. You brought so much joy to our family, more than you'll ever know. I salute you; I honor you for an infinite number of reasons, I celebrate you, and thank you for so much more than I can express with these words. My gratitude to you is endless …
