Nancy Alva Rivet

New Bedford – Nancy Alva (Osborne) Rivet, age 68, of New Bedford, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Andrew Rivet.

Nancy was born in New Bedford, MA to the late William Russell Osborne and Eleanor Elizabeth (Allen) Osborne. She had been a receptionist for Dr. Pollock’s Dental Office for 25 years. She had been a volunteer at the Rotch-Jones-Duff House, loved to sing in choirs, In Spirit of St. Anthony Choir and loved birds. Notably, she had been a Mayflower descendent of John Alden.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Andrew Rivet of New Bedford; her son, Jared Rivet; her two sisters, Linda L. Lawton and her husband Bruce and Kathleen R. Gonsalves and her husband Jose; her special niece, Christina (Rivet) Zwacki; her three brothers-in-law, Randall Rivet and his wife Diane, Peter L. Rivet and his wife Tammy and Gerry Rivet; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Nancy’s visiting hours will take place on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Perry Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 8:00 A.M. and with a service to begin at 9:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
