Mildred Mae Garcia

Dartmouth – Mildred Mae (Wiggin) Garcia, age 78, of South Dartmouth, passed away peacefully, after a period of declining health, on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving husband, children and grandchildren. She was the beloved wife of Manuel B. Garcia.

Mildred was born in New Bedford, MA and was the daughter of the late Andrew Clifford Wiggin and Emily (Lawrence) Wiggin. She had graduated from New Bedford High School in 1963 and later went on to work as an Administrative Assistant for Garcia Engineering.

She is survived by her loving husband, Manuel B. Garcia; her children, Andrew J. Garcia and his wife, Nancy L. Garcia, Carolyn Ann Garcia and Christopher M. Garcia and his wife, Kristie Garcia; six grandchildren, Stephanie Garcia, Ava Ann Garcia, Maya Arruda, Gillian Grace Garcia, Jordan Pinto and Lauren Pinto; as well as two sisters, Elaine Larson and Patricia Sylvia and many nieces and nephews. 

She was also predeceased by her late siblings, George Trinidade, Richard Trinidade and Barbara Morgan.

Mildred’s visiting hours will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at Perry Funeral Home from 3:00 P.M. – 5:00 P.M. Her funeral will take place on Monday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 9:00 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in St. John Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Mildred's memory may be made to the Breakthrough T1D Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of Greater New England at 62 Walnut Street, Wellesley, MA 02481.
