New Bedford, MA – Miguel A. Serrano, age 68, of New Bedford, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024 at his home with his loving family by his side.
Miguel, who was 1 of 11 children, was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico and was the son of Damaso Serrano and Edelmira Serrano Medina. He lived in New York and later moved to Massachusetts, where he had been a butcher for over 25 years and then a building superintendent until he retired in 2018.
He loved the New York Yankees, fishing and most of all spending time with Desmond and his dog, Lucky.
Miguel is survived by his daughter, Jennifer M. Serrano and son-in-law, Michael Alves; daughter, Sophia Serrano and son, Miguel A. Serrano Jr.; grandchildren, Nevaeh M. Gonzalez, Desmond M. Alves, Jordan M. Serrano and Dayden G. Serrano; a great-granddaughter, Oakley M. Serrano; as well as over 30 nieces and nephews and many cousins. He is also survived by 5 siblings, all of New York.
Miguel’s visiting hours and funeral services will be held on Monday, July 22, 2024. Visiting hours will be held at Perry Funeral Home from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. with a service to take place during this time. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth Street, New Bedford.
