Mary Lou Taylor

Worcester – Mary Lou Taylor, age 86, of New Bedford, MA passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at her daughter’s home with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Tubby Douglas.

Mary was born in Middle Creek, North Carolina to the late John Taylor and Mary Lee (Wilson) Taylor. She had worked for Sacred Heart Nursing Home for many years as a C.N.A.

She is survived by her 4 children, Maria Depriest, Frederick Taylor, Pamela Douglas and Angela Denise Green and her husband Samuel; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter and her bestie and loyal caregiver, her granddaughter, Lyvonne Douglas.

She was also the mother of the late Philip Anthony Douglas.

Mary’s visiting hours and funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at the Union Baptist Church located on 109 Court Street, New Bedford, MA. Visiting hours will be held from 9:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M. and a service will immediately follow from 10:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. Cremation will follow.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth Street, New Bedford MA.
