Mary Macedo

New Bedford – Mary (Estrella) Macedo, age 98, of New Bedford, MA passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at St. Luke’s Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Virginio C. Macedo, the former Proprietor of Macedo’s Pharmacy.

Mary was born in Agua de Pau, Sao Miguel, Azores to the late Emanuel Estrella and Maria Madelena (Tavares) Estrella. She had been a Data Manager at Hemingway Transportation for many years.

She is survived by her daughter, Madelyn Macedo; her son, Richard Macedo and his wife Marlene; grandchildren, Sarah Macedo, Joshua Macedo, Benjamin Macedo and Joseph Macedo; great-grandchildren, Noah, Ava, Sophie and Evan; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mary’s funeral services were held privately.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth Street, New Bedford MA.
