Mark Steven Burgess, Sr.

Middleboro - Mark Steven Burgess Sr., age 63, of East Taunton, MA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.

Mark was a devoted family man, a hard worker, and a cherished friend. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly spending time with his family and friends. He loved camping, cookouts, and any activity that brought people together. He was known for his ability to fix anything, earning him the nickname "Marky-Gyver." His resourcefulness and quick thinking were invaluable, and he was the person everyone wanted on their trivia team.

Mark worked for Clean Harbors Environmental Services in Weymouth, MA, where he was respected by his colleagues for his dedication and work ethic.

Mark is survived by, Diane (Courtemanche) Stockbridge, who was the love of his life for 35 years. He is also survived by his four children, Heather Stockbridge of East Taunton, MA, Janelle Schiff and her husband Marty of Laverne, TN, Melissa Callahan and her husband Anthony of Taunton, MA, and Mark Burgess Jr. and his wife Amy of Taunton, MA. He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren, Nevaeh Marie, Jayden Robert, Audrey Diane, Ilabelle Martin, Lorelai Elizabeth, and Anthony John.

Mark is also survived by his mother, Elizabeth Richardson of New Hampshire; his mother-in-law, Geraldine Petrone of Middleboro, MA; and many other family members and friends who will forever remember his kindness, humor, and generosity.

His legacy will live on through the memories of his love, laughter, and the many ways he touched the lives of those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Mark’s Memorial Service will be held on December 7, 2024 at Perry Funeral Home from 1:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M. located on 111 Dartmouth Street, New Bedford, MA 02740. A Celebration of Mark’s life will be taken place at a later date as well.
