Maria Ana Pacheco Tavares

New Bedford – Maria Ana Pacheco Tavares, age 83, of New Bedford, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025 at St. Luke’s Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Antonio Manuel Furtado.

Maria was born in Agua de Pau, Sao Miguel, Azores and was the daughter of the late Francisco Tavares and Encanacao Luiz. She had been a loving homemaker to her family throughout the years.

She is survived by her children,Teresa Baganha and her late husband Carlos, Pedro Furtado and his wife Silvina, Antonio Rodrigues Furtado and his wife Marcia, Octavio Furtado and his wife Nelia, Maria Grace Pacheco and her husband Luis and ; her brother, Jose Ivo Tavares; 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Private funeral arrangements are entrusted to Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth Street, New Bedford.
