Maria C. Pacheco

New Bedford, MA – Maria C. (Tavares) Pacheco, age 92, of New Bedford, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024 at Brandon Woods of New Bedford with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Luis G. Pacheco.

Maria was born in Furnas, Sao Miguel, Azores and was the daughter of the late Jose Sousa Tavares and Georginna (Pacheco) Tavares. She had worked for Cliftex Corporation for many years.

She is survived by her son, Luis A. Pacheco and his wife Joanne M. Pacheco; her daughter, Helen Pacheco; 2 grandchildren, Michael Dunn and Lance Medeiros; as well as her sister, Margaret Tavares. She was the mother of the late Michael Pacheco.

Maria’s visiting hours and funeral service will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024. Visiting hours will take place from 9:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M. at Perry Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
