Maria F. Dias

New Bedford – Maria F. (Pereira) Dias, age 79, of New Bedford, MA passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Antonio Pereira Dias.

She was born in Pedro Miguel, Faial, Azores and was the daughter of the late Jose Francisco Pereira and Inancia (Nunes) Pereira. She had worked as a seamstress and a machine operator for Cape Cod Sportswear for many years.

Maria is survived by her husband, Antonio P. Dias; her son, Antonio F. Dias; 2 grandchildren, Craig A. Dias and Fernanda Lilly-Anne Dias; her brother, Jose Pereira and her sister, Maria Vargas, both of Canada and her sister, Albertina Luis of San Jose, CA; as well as many nieces and nephews. 

Maria’s visiting hours will take place on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at Perry Funeral Home from 1:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M. Her funeral will be held Monday, beginning in the funeral at 9:00 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:00 A.M. Cremation to follow and the burial of her cremains will take place at a later date.
