Manuel Samagaio

New Bedford – Manuel Samagaio, age 96, of Dartmouth, MA passed away on Monday, September 4, 2023 at Hathaway Manor Extended Care. He was the beloved husband of the late Albertina (Silva) Samagaio.

Manuel was born in Pico, Azores and was the son of the late Domingos F. Samagaio and Maria Conceicao (Pimentel) Samagaio. He had been a coiler at American Flexible Conduit Company for many years.

He is survived by his daughter, Maria Sao Marcos and her husband Antonio; grandchildren, Sergio Sao Marcos and his wife Jessica, Lisa Gomes and her husband Matthew; great-grandchildren, Sergio Sao Marcos, Lucas Sao Marcos, Logan Gomes and Jaxon Gomes; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late John, Domingos, Rafael, Marjorie, Germano, Humberto and Augusto Samagaio.

Manuel’s visiting hours will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023 from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. His funeral will take place on Friday, beginning in the funeral home at 9:00 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery.
