Manuel M. Pimentel

New Bedford – Manuel Pimentel, age 77, of New Bedford passed away at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a lengthy battle of illness surrounded by his loving family members. He was the beloved husband of Maria Natalia Pimentel.

Born in Povocao, St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Joao Pimentel and Rosalina Pimentel. He was a veteran of the Portuguese Army and had been employed in the construction field until his retirement.

He loved spending time with the love of his life, his wife Natalia. He enjoyed being outdoors, planting and gardening. He had a generous heart and loved spending time talking to his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, close friends, especially his great-nieces and great-nephews, whom all brought him so much joy. He enjoyed watching soccer and was a big fan of Sporting.

Manuel is survived by his loving wife, Maria Natalia Pimentel; siblings, Fatima Duarte, Ernesto Pimentel and Rosalina Ponte. He is also survived by 2 godchildren and several nieces and nephews; as well as his great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was predeceased by his late siblings, Jose Pimentel, Maria DaLuz Carreiro, Diniz Pimentel and Frank Pimentel.

Manuel’s visiting hours will take place on Friday evening, August 25, 2023 at Perry Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. His funeral will be held Saturday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 8:00 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Assumption Church. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.
