Luis F. Sousa

New Bedford – Luis F. Sousa, age 77, of Freetown passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023 at St. Luke’s Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Olga (Alves) Sousa.

Luis was born in Faial, Azores, Portugal to the late Florencio Sousa and Maria Leonora (Gomes) Sousa. He had worked as a foreman for Titleist for many years. Luis liked to fish, play soccer, his favorite Soccer team was Sporting and loved his pops and cheese. He especially loved his grandchildren and spending time with his family.

Luis is survived by his loving wife, Olga Sousa; his 2 children, Paul L. Sousa and his wife Noemia and Melissa A. Branco and her husband David; and his 5 grandchildren, Eliana, Caleb Luis, Blake, Landon and Estella. He is also survived by his siblings, David R. DeSousa, Eva M. Lima, Joanne Aguiar and Steven F. Sousa; as well as several nieces, nephews and godchildren.

He was predeceased by his sister, Vivian P. Sousa.

Luis’s visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Perry Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. His funeral will take place Wednesday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. and followed by a Funeral Mass at the Pentecostal Assembly Church at 11:00 A.M. located on 215 Sawyer St, New Bedford, MA 02746. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.
