New Bedford – Linda J (Allen) Vasconcelos, age 71, of New Bedford, MA passed away on Friday, November 01, 2024 at home with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife and soul mate of Emanuel Vasconcelos for 45 plus years.
She was born in Middleboro, Massachusetts and was the beloved daughter of the late Phyllis Ruth (Chandler) Allen and the late William Gerald Allen.
Linda’s story began on June 20, 1953 in Middleboro, Massachusetts where she lived with her parents for the early years of her life, and had attended Apponequet Regional high school. Then in 1979 she by chance would meet her best friend, future husband, and future father to her children, when he asked her to dance, it was love at first sight, and it became an inseparable 45-year love story.
Linda was well known by all to be very caring, nurturing, and motherly to anyone who needed help or even just someone to talk to or a shoulder to lean on. She loved her family more then anything on Earth, but she could always be found in the garden, enjoying her time decorating for every holiday to bring more warmth and excitement into her family’s life and to bring a smile to the face of anyone who walked into her home. Linda loved her good old rock and roll music from the 60s and 70s, she was a thoughtful woman and caring friend.
In her professional career she always wanted to help people, she started as a Certified Nursing Assistant and then ended her career as a Dental Assistant, always staying in the healthcare field taking care of those in need.
Linda is survived by her husband, Emanuel Vasconcelos, her son, Christopher Vasconcelos of Fairhaven, and her daughter Monica Vasconcelos of New Bedford. She leaves her legacy of love, laughter, and warmth with her two grandchildren Avery Vasconcelos and Cole Vasconcelos both of Fairhaven. In addition, she leaves her memory with her two sisters, Carole Oliver of Raynham, and Judith Wrightington and her niece, nephew, cousins, and many extended family, and friends.
Linda’s family would like to humbly thank the staff of Community Nursing, the staff of the Bourne Unit at Saint Luke’s Hospital, and the Dartmouth Section of Care One for all of the continued love and support that they had provided to Linda and her family during their time of need.
