Joseph Torres

New Bedford – Joseph Torres, age 58, of New Bedford, MA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at his home after a brief illness, with his loving family by his side.

Joseph was born in New Bedford, MA to the late Maria Laura (Do Rego) Torres and Jose Torres.  Joseph had a free spirit and loving heart and he lived a simple life. He enjoyed spending time with his family the most, he was a collector of music memorabilia and was a strong man of faith, also Joseph‘s favorite and most meaningful holiday was Christmas and if you knew Joseph, he would put a smile on your face. Joseph worked at Olive Garden for twenty five years as kitchen help. 

He is survived by his sister, Lillian Torres-Raposo and her husband Duarte M. Raposo of Rochester; niece, Angelica Raposo; nephews, Nathaniel and Benjamin Raposo of Rochester; his aunts, Aldina Rego and Diamantina Botelho, uncle, Manuel Rego from Canada; as well as his cousins, Louis and Diane Rego, Paul and Terry Rego and John Rego of Rhode Island and Jose and Liz Torres of Westport and Robert and Grace Souza of Somerset and Vasco and Andrea Aguiar from Fall River.

Per the family’s wishes, Joseph's funeral services and burial will be private.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth Street, New Bedford MA.
