Joseph F. Gomes

New Bedford – Joseph F. Gomes, age 63, of New Bedford, MA passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at St. Luke’s Hospital with his loving family by his side.

Joseph was born in Flores, Azores and was the beloved son of Maria Teresa (Freitas) Gomes and the late Albino Gomes. He had such a passion and love for playing music and had been an organist at Our Lady of Assumption Church over the years.

He is survived by his mother, Maria Teresa Gomes; his siblings, Solomon Gomes and his wife Del and Maria Weaver; as well as numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

Joseph’s visiting hours and funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2024. Visiting hours will take place at Perry Funeral Home from 8:00 A.M. – 9:30 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Assumption Church at 10:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in St. John Cemetery.
