Jose L. Pavao

New Bedford, MA – Jose L. Pavao, age 74, of New Bedford, know to his many friends as J.P. passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at St. Luke’s Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Sharon Anne (Roy) Rivet.

Jose was born in St. Michael, Azores, Portugal and was the son of Alfonso M. Pavao and Maria C. Pavao. He had been a self-employed carpet installer for many years. In his free time, he loved watching all different types of sports and his favorite team was the NY Giants. He also enjoyed watching western movies and going for long rides in his convertible.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Rivet; his son, Jason Pavao; his step-daughter, Morgan Ashley; 2 grandchildren, Gavin Pavao and Owen Ashley; a brother, Antonio Pavao; a sister, Natalia Cardoza; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Jose’s funeral arrangements are private.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth Street, New Bedford.
