João Carlos Braga

New Bedford – João Carlos Braga, age 72, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at home with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Andrea (Roderick) Braga of New Bedford.

João was born in Maia, Sao Miguel, Azores to the late Silvina Moniz and Pedro Moniz de Braga. He had worked at JF White Construction.

João is survived by his siblings, Margarita Pereira, Jose Braga, Antonio Braga, Pedro Braga, and Almesinda Barbosa, along with their beloved spouses. Children, daughter Kelly Silva and her husband Gabriel, son Derek Braga and daughter Kristie Ribeiro; as well as predeceased wife Rosemary Braga. Grandchildren, Gabriel Silva Jr., Nathan, Tylar and Kaitlyn, Janessa and Jai, Jadyn, Jonathan, Jenna, Justina, Christopher, and Jameson, Anthony, Damien and Jordan. Great-grandchildren, Neveah, Nathan Silva Jr., Jayla, Jason, Oliver, Briella and Anthony Carvalho Jr.; as well as beloved nieces, nephews and many others. 

His visiting hours will be held at Perry Funeral Home on Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. His funeral will take place on Friday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 9:00 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow at St. John Cemetery.
