New Bedford - Jaime Santos, age 67, of New Bedford, Massachusetts, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 24, 1957, in Zebral, Montalegre, Portugal, to Alfredo Dos Santos and the late Angelina (Araujo) Dos Santos.
Jaime was the cherished husband of Maria J. (Cabral) Santos, and together they built a life filled with love and joy. A devoted father, he is survived by his children, Christopher Dos Santos, Stephanie Carneiro and her husband Felipe Carneiro, and Cristine Murphy. Each of his grandchildren, Kasandra, Domenic, Dylan, Ava, and Collin, brought immense happiness to his life, and he treasured the time spent with them.
Jaime spent many years working as a landscaper for Schumacher Landscape Company, a role that allowed him to indulge his love for the outdoors. He found peace and fulfillment in his garden, tending lovingly to his plants and enjoying the companionship of his chickens. An avid soccer fan, Jaime passionately supported Benfica and enjoyed watching matches whenever he could. He had a love for playing cards and found joy in any activity that allowed him to work with his hands.
Known for his outgoing personality, Jaime had a knack for making those around him smile. His sense of humor and joyous spirit left an impression on everyone he met, and he cherished his close-knit relationships with family and friends. His kindness and warmth will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. Jaime leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, and his memory will forever remain etched in the hearts of his loved ones.
Jaime is also survived by his sibling, Ana Paula d’Almeida and her husband Michael, along with several nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.
Visiting hours for Jaime will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Perry Funeral Home from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. His funeral service will take place on Thursday morning, beginning at 8:45 A.M. at the funeral home and followed by a Mass at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church at 10:00 A.M. Cremation will follow.
Family asks to refrain from sending flowers.
