Gemma Galit Tobalyas

New Bedford – New Bedford – Gemma Galit Tobalyas, age 73, of New Bedford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at St. Luke’s Hospital.

Born in Lao-ang Samar, Philippines, she was the beloved daughter of the late Juan Tobalyas and Loyola (Morales) Galit. 

She had worked as a Nurse’s Aide for Our Lady’s Haven then blossomed her creative oriental import store for many years. She charmed those for her exquisite jazzy vox singing, her saxophone serenading.

She was also known for her charming dishes, prepared for the Kennedy’s at their beach house at Martha's Vineyard Island,

Gemma is survived by her daughter, Tanya Tobalyas Moore and her son, Anthony Hall.
