Gary F. Hathaway

Acushnet – Gary F. Hathaway Sr., age 82, of Acushnet passed away on Thursday October 26, 2023 at home with his family at his side. He was the loving husband of Florence (Ledoux) Hathaway.

Gary was born in Fall River, Ma to Helen A. (Griffin) and Gerald F. Hathaway. He worked at New England Telephone as a Technician which later became Verizon. He had been in the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. He loved to play pool, watch pool and was in 2 leagues the TAP and APA, also enjoyed going for rides with his wife Flo and his dog Maggie as well as walks in the parks, his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. Gary could always be found at Jakes Diner, Little Village and Rochelles enjoying breakfast with Flo.

Gary is survived by his wife Florence Hathaway, son, Gary F. Hathaway Jr. and his partner Tanya Sousa, daughter, Kerri L. Hathaway and her partner Paul Feilhauer. 3 grandchildren, Alec Govoni and his wife Laura, Kayla Conti and her husband Michael and Bryce Govoni and his partner Hannah Gillooley, great grandchildren, Olivia Govoni, Hudson Govoni, Kendall Conti and Mila Govoni, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Gerald and John Hathaway.

A celebration of Gary's life will be held on Monday November 13, 2023 at Perry funeral Home from 5:00P.M.- 8:00 P.M.. Burial of his Cremains with a service will take place on Tuesday at Acushnet Cemetery with a friend of the family Fr. Tom at 12:30 P.M. Anyone who wishes to attend Burial please meet at the funeral home between 11:30 - 12:00 .
