Gary D. Cambra

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unfortunate and unexpected passing of Gary D. Cambra, age 61, of New Bedford, MA on Tuesday, January 23, 2024.

Gary was born in New Bedford, MA to Joan B. (Travers) Cambra and the late Manuel Cambra. He loved and was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He was known for his tremendous work ethic and jokester personality, which made everyone smile and laugh.

He is survived by his mother, Joan B. Cambra; his wife, Tara Cambra; his 6 children, Jeffrey Cambra of Fall River, Jason Cambra (Master Sergeant U.S. Army), Gary Cambra, Jr. of Fall River, Brad Cambra (Chief Warrant Officer Two U.S. Army), Brian Cambra and Brett Cambra, both of New Bedford; 11 grandchildren; his brother, John Cambra; as well as his beloved cat Baby. 

He was also the brother of the late Rene Cambra.

He was a life long fan of professional wrestling.  He enjoyed his coffee and donuts; as well as long walks on the beach.

A memorial service for Gary will take place on Monday, February 12, 2024 at Perry Funeral Home. Visiting hours with cremains will be held from 11:30 A.M. - 12:45 P.M. with a service to be held at 12:45 P.M.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth Street, New Bedford MA.
