Eileen T. Herman

New Bedford – Eileen T. (Estrella) Herman, age 78, of New Bedford passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023 at Brandon Woods of New Bedford with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Gary S. Herman.

Eileen Herman was known for her kind soul. She was generous and caring as well as a lover of God. She belonged to the International Church of the Nazarene where she would attend with her late husband Gary Herman. She was a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In her younger days she worked at Ocean Spray as well as being a fitness instructor.

She leaves behind many loved ones including 3 sons Timothy Platt and his wife Jarna, Theodore, and Thomas Platt and his wife Candace; as well as 1 daughter, Deborah Platt and her 10 grandchildren Evan Platt, Amber Miller and her husband CJ, Cody Platt, Christopher Platt and his wife Christine, Kendra Platt, Taylor Platt, Nicholas Platt, Peter Platt, Sofia Platt-Reis, Cameron Reis and a great-grandson Patrick Miller. Also survived by other beloved family members, Colleen Platt, Kristin Baker, and Madison Amaral.

She was a great friend to those around her and cherished those who loved her. She always enjoyed praying, going to church, and reading the Bible. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She will always be remembered for her strength, sense of humor, and loving nature.

Eileen’s visiting hours and funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Perry Funeral Home. Visiting hours will be held from 8:30 A.M. – 10:15 A.M. with a service to take place at 10:15 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.
