Edna Sylvia

Westport – Edna Sylvia, age 92, of South Dartmouth has passed away on August 4th, 2023 at home with her loving family by her side. Edna was born to the late Joao Santos and Mary (Cardoza) Santos in New Bedford, Massachusetts, and was the loving wife to the late John T. Sylvia. She had worked at Cove Manufacturing as a sorter.

Edna is survived by her Daughter Edna Carroll and her husband Eugene; her grandchildren Christine Carlson and her husband CDR Cameron Carlson, Christopher Carroll and his wife Rachel; her great-grandsons Owen and Sean Carroll; her nephews Gilly, Ernie, and Russell Santos; and her niece Lisa Mena.

Edna enjoyed playing cards, shopping, and spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends. She was a spirited woman with a fun sense of humor. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.

Edna’s funeral will be held at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth Street, New Bedford, MA 02740 on Friday, August 11, 2023 from 10:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. with a service to be held at 12:30 P.M. followed Immediately by a burial at Rural Cemetery.
