With the awareness of his need for God’s mercy, David experienced a profound transformation through his relationship with Jesus Christ, which became the cornerstone of his life. David’s journey of faith led him to be a long-time attendant of the first church of Hixville, in Dartmouth. After moving to Cape Cod, he became an integral part of the Nauset Baptist Church congregation in Eastham, where he found joy and purpose in serving others. His involvement at Nauset Baptist Church was not just a routine; it was a reflection of his desire to contribute positively to his community. David's transformation through the love of Jesus Christ is a profound aspect of his life that undoubtedly shaped his character and the way he interacted with the world.David’s life long journey serves as a testament to the power of faith to bring about genuine change. His legacy of transformation will undoubtedly continue to inspire those who remember him.David was a devoted friend, known for his thoughtful check-ins. His habit of reaching out to loved ones with a simple call or text signifies the importance he placed on relationships. David worked as a professional auto and marine detailer. Restoring vehicles and boats to their former glory mirrored his own transformation—taking something worn or weathered and making it shine again. An avid classic car enthusiast, David had a passion for showcasing and racing hot rods and motorcycles, reflecting his appreciation for craftsmanship and nostalgia. His love for cooking was equally notable, as he prepared weekly meals for his church community and delighted in sharing recipes and meals with friends.In recent years David found companionship and joy in his bond with Smokey, the cat he rescued. Spending time with Smokey brought him immense joy and comfort, highlighting David's compassionate nature. Smokey was not just a pet; he was a loyal friend who shared in David's daily life, providing affection and companionship.
Predeceased by his parents, Lorraine Marashio and Clarence Marshall, and his stepfather, Salvador “Paul” Marashio, David is survived by his brother, Phillip Marshall, several cousins, aunts, and countless close friends who will forever remember his infectious spirit and the love he shared.Though he will be deeply missed, we rejoice in the knowledge that David now resides in heaven, in perfect peace with his Savior, Jesus Christ. His life serves as a testament to the transformative power of love and faith, inspiring all who had the privilege of knowing him.
