David M. Barbosa

New Bedford – David M. Barbosa, age 78, of New Bedford, MA passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Care One of New Bedford with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Alda M. (Isodoro) Barbosa.

David was born in Lagoa, St. Michael, Azores to the late Eugene Barbosa and Jorgelina (Rebelo) Barbosa. He moved to the United States in 1971 and has resided in this area since. He had been a weaver for Quaker Fabric for many years.

He is survived by his loving wife, Alda M. Barbosa; his 2 sons, Mark P. Barbosa and Charlie M. Barbosa; 2 sisters, Maria de Fatima Barbosa of Canada and Margarida Lima and her husband Joe Lima of New Bedford; granddaughter, Brittany Barbosa; as well as several nieces and nephews.

David’s visiting hours and funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024. Visiting hours will take place at Perry Funeral Home from 8:00 A.M. – 9:30 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.
