Cremilde (Goulart) Silveira

Rhode Island – Cremilde (Goulart) Silveira, age 92, of New Bedford passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Hope Health Hulitar Hospice Center with her loving family by her side. She as the beloved wife of the late Albino E. Silveira.

Cremilde was born in Pico, Azores to the late Joao Goulart Sarmento and Julia Tomasia (da Silva) Sarmento. She had worked for the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home for many years. She loved listening to the Word of God through EWTN and prayed for everyone. Cremilde was kind, generous and loved to watch her Novelas when she could and enjoyed gardening and cooking. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as they were her pride and joy.

Cremilde is survived by her daughter, Fernanda Fumo and her husband Joseph A.; 2 grandchildren, Shawn J. Fumo and Joshua R. Fumo and his wife Chelsey; 2 great-grandchildren, Scarlett Rose Fumo and Brody Joshua Fumo; her sisters, Maria Olivia Das Neves and Mariana Silveira; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her late siblings, Alvaro Sarmento, Arlene Das Neves and Alice Goulart Serpa.

Cremilde’s funeral services will take place on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 11:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery. All attendees are kindly asked to meet directly at the church.
