Rhode Island – Maria "Clara" Gil-Dovale, age 72, of Dartmouth, MA. passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at Rhode Island Hospital with her loving family by her side.
Clara was born in Figueira da Foz, Portugal to the late José Gil and Estrela Manata, and moved to the United States when she was 14 years old. She had many careers in her lifetime, and was most recently a driver for Tremblay's Bus Company.
Clara enjoyed going for walks on the beach, listening to live music and dancing, cooking and baking, photography and painting, and going to New Hampshire in the fall to see the foliage. Clara's family meant everything to her, and she loved spending quality time with her kids and grandkids. Most of all, she loved Jesus, and had a passionate desire to know Him and make Him known to others.
She is survived by her daughter, Ana Cravo; her son, Tiago Dovale; grandchildren, Joshua and Sara Cravo; daughter-in-law, Allie Dovale; sister, Maria José “Mizé” Silva and her nephew, Eduardo Silva. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Luciano “Sano” Gil.
A Celebration of Clara’s Life will be held at Perry Funeral Home on Monday, November 25, 2024 from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M.
