Barbara M. Barboza

New Bedford – Barbara M. (Monteiro) Barboza, age 87, of New Bedford, MA passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at the Sacred Heart Nursing Home. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald J. Barboza.

Barbara was born in Maston Mills, MA and was the beloved daughter of the late John A. Monterio of Bridgeport Connecticut, and Kathleen (Perry) Walker of Cotuit, MA and Florida.

Barbara was a devoted wife and mother. She loved spending her time cooking for family and friends. She along with her husband went on many cruises and traveled extensively. Barbara loved being a grandmother and great-grandmother very much. She will be greatly missed by remaining family.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen M. Howes, Richard D. Howes Jr. of Osterville, MA, Richard D. Howes 3rd, Cassandra Howes and Dylan J. Howes of Hyannis. Barbara is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was also the mother of the late Donna M. Barboza, David A. Barboza, Donald J. Barboza, Jr. of New Bedford and Florida. Sister to the late Richard Monteiro and John Monteiro of Florida and Cotuit Ma., baby Marcey Monteiro of Cotuit.

No funeral arrangements at this time. Donations can be given in Barbara's name to your favorite animal charity.
