Arlene M. George

Dartmouth – Arlene M. (Medeiros) George, age 88, of Dartmouth, MA passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph George.

Arlene was born in New Bedford, MA to the late George Medeiros and Maria G.P. (Cordeira) Medeiros. She had worked as a manager in the New Bedford School Department. In her free time, she loved to knit.

She is survived by her children, Susanne Abreu and her husband James; grandson, Antone J. George Jr. and his wife Dawn; as well as her nephew, George dos Santos and his wife Megan.

Arlene was predeceased by her late son, Antone J. George Sr.; her late grandson, Kevin J. Ponte and her late sister, Elaine M. dos Santos.

Arlene’s visiting hours will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024 at Perry Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Her funeral will take place on Tuesday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 9:00 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Julie Billiart Church. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.
