Angie P. Demelo

New Bedford – Angie P. (Faria) Demelo, age 92, of New Bedford, MA passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at St. Luke’s Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Manuel Demelo.

Born in Bertanha, Sao Miguel, Açores she was the daughter of the late Francisco Pavao Faria and Angelina (Pimental) Faria. She came to the United States in 1972, where she settled down in New Bedford. She had worked for Hathaway Mills as a machine operator for many years.

Angie is survived by her children, Joe Melo of Fall River, Maria Fernandes of West Bridgewater, Fatima Melo of New Bedford, Arthur Demelo of Westport and Manuel Demelo (predeceased); grandchildren, Jessica, C.J., Victor, Sandra, Nina and Ashley; a great-grandchild, Alexia; as well as her siblings, Peter Faria and Dennis Farias.

Visiting hours and funeral service for Angie will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Perry Funeral Home. Visiting hours will take place from 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M with a service to take place during this time. Cremation will follow.
