Maria D. Veloso

New Bedford-Maria D. Veloso age 72 years died September 4th at Women and Infants Hospital in Rhode Island. She was the beloved wife of the late Dionisio C. Veloso. Maria was the loved mother of Aldora DeFraga of New Bedford, Joao Veloso of Lawrence, Dionisio Veloso Jr. of New Bedford, Dimas Veloso of Taunton, Goretti Santos of New Bedford, Jose Veloso of Dartmouth, Carmen Moniz of Swansea, Grace Couto of North Carolina, Carlos Veloso of Florida, and Victor Veloso of Dartmouth. Sister of Maria Lourdes de Cabrinha of Taunton, Rosa Maria Carreiro of Taunton, Jose Camelo, Manuel Camelo, and Antonio Camelo all of Taunton, Mariano Camelo of Bristol, Rhode Island and Joao Augusto Camelo of Dartmouth, and the late Conceicao Bolorinho. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Veloso was a daughter of the late Rosa (Ribeiro) and Joao Augusto Camelo. She was born in São Miguel, Açores and has lived here since 1978.

Mrs. Veloso’s Funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. on Wednesday at 9:30 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow at Saint John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 5-8 P.M.
