Dartmouth – Mary P. Faria age 86 died Sunday August 14, 2011 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late John Faria. Mrs. Faria was a daughter of the late Virginio V. and Maria (Mauricio) Pimental. She was born in New Bedford and has lived in Dartmouth for 51 years. She was a resident of Brandon Woods of Dartmouth for the last 7 months due to declining health. Mary formerly worked at St. Luke’s Hospital for 21 years on maternity caring for the new born babies. A job she truly loved. She retired in 1987. Mary was an avid bingo player at Buttonwood Seniors Center where she enjoyed the company of her many friends.

She was the loved mother of Diane S. Medeiros of South Dartmouth; Kathleen J. Laviolette and her husband Charles of Brandon, FL. And Daniel J. Faria and his wife Susan of North Dartmouth. Mary was the loving Grandmother of Lynn Buchanan and her husband Eric, Norman S. Medeiros and his wife Trisha, Jodi and her husband Bill, Jason Laviolette and his wife Kristin, Tracy Champagne and Daniel Faria Jr. She was the loved Great-grandmother of Blake and Grant Buchanan, Meagan, Lauren and Ryan, Ava and Mack Medeiros and Samantha Champagne. Mary was pre-deceased by her Son-in-Law Norman P. Medeiros whom she loved and adored. She was the sister of the late John Pimental. Mary is survived by her sister-in-law Doris Pimental. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Faria’s funeral will be Saturday at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 8:45 A.M. with a Mass to be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, South Dartmouth at 10 A.M. Burial will follow at Saint John Cemetery. Visiting hours are Friday evening from 6 - 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
