Joao P. Dalapa

New Bedford – Joao P. Dalapa, age 85 years, died Monday, August 1, 2011 at St Luke’s Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Rosalina (Serpa) Dalapa. Loved father of Paul Lapa of New Bedford, Sandra Dalapa Ferreira and Diana Dalapa of New Bedford, He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Dalapa was a son of the late Maria Luisa (Perdigota) and Antonio Dalapa. He was born in Lisbon, Portugal and moved to the New Bedford area in 1985. Mr. Dalapa was formerly employed at Uville Hospital in Cambridge, Ma. until his retirement.

Mr. Dalapa’s funeral will be Thursday at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 10 :00 A.M.. Services will begin at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow at the Rural Cemetery Visiting Hours will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
