Leonardo Rosa

New Bedford - Leonardo Rosa, 83, of New Bedford, died Thursday, February 12, 2004, at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the husband of Valentina G. (Garcia) Rosa. He was the father Manuel Rosa and his wife Teri Rosa of Bennington N.H, Jorge Rosa and his wife Lori Rosa of North Dartmouth. Mr. Leonard had six grandchildren Jonah, Katrina, Kendra, Jennilyn, Kelsey, Rose and one great grandchild Cameron Rosa. He was the brother of the late Manuel, Jose, Guilherme, Joao, Eduardo and Teresa Rosa, and Franklin Sliva. Mr. Rosa had several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Rosa was born in St. Caetano, Pico, Azores, Portugal. He was the son of the late Manuel Fontes daRosa and Rosa Clara da Conceicao. He worked as a Presser at Cliftex Corp.

His funeral will be Tuesday, February 17, 2004, from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 8 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 A.M. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Rivet St. New Bedford, MA. Visiting hours will be Monday, February 16, 2004 from 6 - 8 P.M.
