Laura G. (Gouveia) Medeiros

New Bedford – Laura (Gouveia) Medeiros, age 85 years, died Monday, July 11, 2011 at New Bedford Healthcare Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Medeiros. Mrs. Medeiros was the mother of Theresa M. Costa and her husband Robert of New Bedford, grandmother of Joseph A. Costa and his wife Lori of Westport and Robert A. Costa Jr. and his fiancée Lisa Smith of New Bedford, great grandmother of Kiara, Shelby, Dakota, Alyssa and Katelyn Costa. She was the sister of the late Fernanda Paul and Seraphim Gouveia and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Medeiros was the daughter of the late John Jesus and Clara (Frisbie) Gouveia. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Medeiros funeral will be Friday at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 8:30 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Our Lady of Fatima Church at 10 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday evening from 5 - 8 P.M.
