Jose L. Ferrreira

New Bedford – Jose L. Ferreira, age 81 years, died Monday, July 11, 2011 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Isabel(Costa) Ferreira. Mr. Ferreira was the father of Maria Laranja, Ana Couto, Fatima, Lucy, Graca, Joao, Jose Luis, Eduardo, Francisco and Steven Ferreira all of New Bedford, Adriana Dunn of South Dartmouth and the late Gloria de Jesus Ferreira. He is survived by 31 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren . Mr. Ferreira was the brother of Lurdes Ferreira of St. Michael, Azores and also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by several siblings.

Mr. Ferreira was a son of the late Francisco and Maria do Rosario (Cordeiro) Ferreira. Mr. Ferreira worked as a landscaper most of his life.

Mr. Ferreira‘s funeral will be Thursday at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 9:30 A.M. Services will take place at 10 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday evening from 5 -8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
