Maria Adelaide Silveira

New Bedford – Maria Adelaide Silveira, age 79 years, died Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at Hallmark Nursing & Rehab Center. She was the wife of Joao Silveira of New Bedford. Maria was the mother of Leonor Rosa, wife of Jose and Olivia Nogueira Pimentel, wife of Weber both of Madalena, Pico, Azores and Cecilia Hester, wife of William of Enfield , N.H. Mrs. Silveira was the sister of Olivia, Jose, Margarida, Boa Nova, and Norberto, grandmother of Brian and Jessica and great grandmother of Eric and Jayla. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Silveira was a daughter of the late Maria Adelaide (Faria) and Manuel Furtado Da Rosa. She was born in Madalena, Pico, Azores and has lived in the United States since 1975 and in this area since 1981. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.

Mrs. Silveira‘s funeral will be Friday at 8 A.M. at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel at 9 A.M.. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours are Thursday evening from 7 – 9 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
