Maria Da Conceicao (Faria) Rocha

New Bedford-Maria da Conceicao Rocha age 89 years died Sunday May 22nd at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Jose Rocha. She was the loved mother of the late Joao Rocha who passed March 10th 2008 Mother-in-Law of Helena (Fonseca) Rocha of New Bedford. Maria was the sister of Olivia Machado Pacheco of Terceira, Açores and the late Joao Machado Faria, Jose Machado Faria and Antonio Machado Faria. She was the loved grandmother of Richard Rocha and his wife Sandy and Kelly Arruda and her husband Antonio both of New Bedford. She was the loved great-grandmother of Matthew Rocha, Kelsey Arruda and Noah Arruda. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Rocha was a daughter of the late Maria Jose (daConceicao) and Jose Machado Faria. She was born in Terceira, Açores. She has lived here since 1975.

Mrs. Rocha’s funeral will be Wednesday. at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Church New Bedford at a time to be announced. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hour will be Tuesday from 5-8 P.M.
