Claire Souza

New Bedford – Claire Souza, age 85 years, died Thursday, May 5, 2011 at New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home. Claire was the Sister of the late Louis R. Souza, James R. Souza, Grace Robbins, and Evelyn Sylvia She is survived by nieces and nephews Lillian G. Souza of S. Dartmouth, Barbara J. Barabe of W. Yarmouth, George Robbins of Seabring, Florida, Scott Robbins of New Hampshire, and Francine M. Scerbo of Hudson, Florida and Clifford J. Souza of New Bedford and the late James R Souza.

Ms. Souza was the daughter of the late Mary (Frates) and James R. Souza. She was born in New Bedford and was a lifelong resident. Ms. Souza loved movies, Broadway plays, bingo, and was an avid Red Sox Fan. Red Sox Nation has lost a devoted member in her passing. She was very active in the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home Chorus. Claire totally enjoyed her life till the very end.

Ms. Souza’s wishes were to be cremated. A Funeral Mass with her ashes present will be at a later date.
