Fernando De Medeiros

New Bedford-Fernando De Medeiros age 80 years died March 28th at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Aida Maria Tavares of New Bedford. He was the loved father of Luis Alberto Medeiros, Filomena Pereira Medeiros, Paulo J Medeiros and Emanuel Medeiros all of New Bedford. Fernando was the brother of Manuel Gregorio of Terceira Açores. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren. 9 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. De Medeiros was the son of the late Mariano and Maria Adelaide (Gregorio). He was born in São Miguel, Açores and has lived here since 1989. He was a carpenter with a supermarket in Portugal until his retirement.

Mr. De Medeiros’ Funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. on Thursday at 9:30 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 5-8 P.M.
