Maria Dos Anjos (Lima) De Melo

Dartmouth-Maria dos Anjos. De Melo age 90 died March 25, 2011 at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth. She was the beloved wife of the late Joao I. Melo. They were formerly of Sol-E-Mar in Dartmouth Maria was the loved mother of Lucilia Costa and her husband Antonio, Natividade Tavares and her husband Joseph both of Dartmouth, Maria F. Alves and her husband Al of New Bedford and the late Aurello L. Melo and his wife Silvana of Dartmouth. She was the stepmother of Raimundo Melo of Brazil. She was the loving grandmother or Jennifer Pimenta and her husband Joseph, Jaime Melo, Tracey Pereira and her husband Paul, Scott Melo and his wife Patricia, Diane Augusto and her husband Durval, Christine Deganto and her husband Rocco, Derek Costa and his wife Kristen, Katia Melo, Claudio Melo and his wife Rosa and Shannon Alves. Maria was the sister of Maria Canceicao Maia of São Miguel, and the late Manuel da Camara Lima Jr., Agostinho da Camara Lima and Carlos da Camara Lima. She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. De Melo was the daughter of the late Maria dos Anjos (Cabral) and Manuel da Camara Lima. She was born in Capelas, São Miguel Açores and lived in this are since 1967. She was an assembler at John I. Paulding, and as a stitcher with various clothing manufacturers.

Mrs. De Melo’s Funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. on Monday at 8:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 5-8 P.M.
