Manuel C. Cunha

New Bedford –Manuel C. Cunha, age 58 years, passed away Monday, March 21, 2011 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was the beloved father of Manny Cunha, husband of Lisa, of Fairhaven, Joshua Cunha, fiancée of Holly Souza and Shawn Cunha, fiancée of Sara Torres, both of New Bedford. Mr. Cunha was the grandfather of Dustin, Lindsey, Trevor, and Dylan Cunha. Manuel was the brother of Fatima Correia and Lurdes Sousa both of Dartmouth, and Isaura Pacheco of New Bedford and the late Gil da Cunha and Jose da Cunha. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Cunha was a son of the late Maria do Cristo (Verissimo) and Manuel Marques da Cunha. He was born in São Miguel, Açores and has lived in this area since 1969. Mr. Cunha was employed as a produce specialist at Sid Wainer and Son.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Tuesday March 29th from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. Everyone is invited to meet at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church on Wednesday for his Mass of Christian Burial on March 30th at 9 A.M. Burial of his cremains will follow at Rural Cemetery.
