William D. Calvin

Dartmouth –William D. Calvin age 81 years, passed away on Saturday March 19th 2011 at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth. William was the beloved husband of Alda (Almeida) Calvin of New Bedford. Mr. Calvin was the father of David W. husband of Catherine Calvin of Stafford, VA and Suzette Calvin of Boston MA. He was the grandfather of Caitlin, Kelley and Adam Calvin. He was the brother of the late Adam Calvin and Mary Hollenberg. He also leaves 2 nephews and 1 great niece.

Mr. Calvin was a son of the late Florence (Cowan) and Doyle Calvin. He was the born Hopkinsville KY, and he lived in this area since 1971. Mr. Calvin was formerly employed as an Electronics Engineer for the U.S. Coast Guard at Woods Hole MA. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Calvin served a total of 20 years in the military.

Mr. Calvin funeral will be from Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. Thursday at 9:30 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St John the Baptist Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne MA. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 6-8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
